A surprise proposal in the Blue Mountains
Every now and then, I get to be part of something truly special and this one was pure magic.
A few weeks ago, I received a message from a lovely guy who was planning to propose to his girlfriend on a private property in Blackheath. He wanted it to be intimate, beautiful, and completely unforgettable — and honestly, the Blue Mountains is the perfect backdrop for that kind of moment.
We chatted through the plan, and on the day, he went ahead first to show me exactly how to get to this hidden little lookout so I could sneak in before they arrived. Once I got there, I tucked myself away — hiding quietly in the bushes (feeling like a total secret agent with my camera), waiting for the moment to unfold.
He kept me updated on where they were and how close they were getting, and then… it happened.
He got down on one knee.
It was quiet, emotional, and absolutely beautiful. I stayed hidden, giving them their moment, then stepped out when I knew it was the right time to congratulate them. Afterward, we spent the next hour wandering around, chatting, laughing, and capturing their loved-up glow, that just-engaged joy that feels so fresh and real.
If you’ve ever dreamed of proposing (or being proposed to!) somewhere wild and breathtaking, the Blue Mountains really is the perfect spot. From clifftop lookouts to forest trails and hidden waterfalls, there’s something so grounding and romantic about this place.
Would you propose to your love in the Blue Mountains?
I’d LOVE to help you plan and capture it all. 🌿💍
